Collaborative, Creative, Intentional

Life for young people and their parents can feel overwhelming, like a constant parade of new things to adapt to. When environments and circumstances overwhelm our abilities, our natural ways of adapting can become stuck.

Signs of stuckness show up in different ways and go by many different names, including; panic, anxiety, unexplained physical symptoms (e.g. stomach pain, vomiting), avoidance, depression, trauma, oppositional defiance, anger, outbursts, problems at school, challenges with transitions, and many more.

Situations that we used to handle well can suddenly become something we dread. Planning for the future starts to come with fear and paralysis, instead of hope and excitement. Thinking about school comes with stress and panic, instead of looking forward to new experiences and seeing friends. Watching your child struggle with obstacles leaves you feeling lost or even helpless, instead of motivated to teach and guide.

I specialize in helping young people and families get unstuck, and get back on track towards the life they want.

My approach is collaborative, creative, and intentional.

I am a Registered Psychologist with over 10 year of experience working with young people and families, and extensive training in a variety of therapy methods; ranging from talk based to activity based (e.g. art therapy or play therapy activities), from individual to more than one person at a time (e.g. family therapy, parenting support), from direct to in direct (e.g. skill teaching vs help expressing yourself without judgement).

My priority is creating conditions for the people I meet with to feel heard, understood, and deeply respected. When this occurs I find that we quickly discover what approach fits you best, with room for it to evolve at any time.
